Passengers with Service Animals or Pets

Guidelines on service animals and Hopp Pet rides to ensure safe, respectful, and comfortable experiences for drivers, riders, and their pets.

Passengers with service animals

Service animals are permitted to accompany passengers at all times in any Hopp category without extra charge. Through the Ontario Human Rights Code, passengers cannot be denied service because they have a service animal with them. Denying a passenger a ride because they have a service animal may lead to your account being suspended.

What pets can join a Hopp Pet ride?

Passengers may bring one pet with them, such as a dog, a cat or any other animal classed as a domestic pet.

What can you expect from riders and their pets?

Passengers are fully responsible for their pets for the duration of the ride. When transporting the animals, they must be restrained with a leash, harness, or placed in a crate.

How can you keep your car clean?

To ensure the car remains clean, we recommend both drivers and riders bring a blanket to cover the seats and a cleaning kit with wet wipes and tissues. This is to help clear up small amounts of hair and free the vehicle of any smells.
