Passengers with Service Animals

Service animals are permitted to accompany passengers at all times in any Hopp category without extra charge. Through the Ontario Human Rights Act, passengers cannot be denied service because they have a service animal with them.

Hopp Pet category

Which pets can join a Hopp Pet ride?

Passengers are welcome to bring one small to medium-sized animal such as a cat or dog on their ride. Approval for other animals is subject to your discretion.

What can you expect from riders and their pets?

Passengers are fully responsible for their pets for the duration of the ride. When transporting the animals, they must be restrained with a leash, harness, or placed in a crate.

How can you keep your car clean?

To ensure the car remains clean, we recommend that you have a blanket, towel or seat cover to cover the seats, as well as a cleaning kit with wet wipes and tissues available. This is to help clear up small amounts of hair and free the vehicle of any smells.

Opting In and Out of Hopp Pet

If you've already signed up for Hopp Pet, you can opt in and opt out of the category from the driver preferences in the Hopp Driver app at the bottom right of the map. If you wish to opt in to Hopp Pet for the first time, keep an eye on your notifications for opportunities to opt in!

The Pet category is optional, so you can choose to ride in that category at any time. If you are allergic to animals, you should opt out of the Hopp Pet category.
